Chris Gethard Celebrates Comic Con Week on Late Night
Last night, on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Chris Gethard was one of Seth’s guest, and since it’s Comic Con week, he shared a very personal story about his love of comic books. When he was in eighth grade, he had a favorite character in a lesser known XMEN spinoff comic book, X Factor. Chris was really upset when ‘the Multiple Man’ died in comic book #100, so he fired off an angry letter– which was published right before Chris started High School. It was a pretty intense letter– especially for a teenager– and since Chris had an older brother, everyone in High School found out that he was the kid who cried when the multiple man died. He shares the letter in the clip below.
Chris was on to promote his public access show, The Chris Gethard Show, which he says, caters to people who self identify as losers and outcasts. He shared a clip from his show, from an episode with Mike Birbiglia, and a juggler as the guests. The audience was allowed to bring things from home to be juggled and madness ensued. “We’re the only show that almost hits our audience with knives.”
