Kristen Wiig Talks About Her First Nude Scene
Kristen Wiig’s new film “Welcome to Me” produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. Another debut was Kristen in her first nude scene which she did for the movie.
Kristen stars as a woman with borderline personality disorder who wins the lottery and uses the money to fund her own public access cable talk show. Will Ferrell also co-stars with her. Kristen said she knew that if she took on the role that she would have to see the nude scene through because it was so important to the story.
The reality of appearing nude on the big screen was dawning on her as the screening got closer. Kristen Wiig told EOnline – “It was completely terrifying. I’m nervous that it’s going to be out there in about an hour or two. Everyone’s going to see everything.”
Will Ferrell said – “I don’t want to come off creepy but that was a bold choice on her behalf. It was always in the script, but I think it’s just another aspect of her amazing performance in this.”
Director Shira Piven shot the scene in a casino full of gamblers and was able to pull it off with no one seeing Kristen. No nationwide release date has been announced for “Welcome to Me”. Along with Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell, the movie co-stars James Marsden, Linda Cardellini, Wes Bentley, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tim Robbins and Joan Cusack.
