Kevin Smith Tweets First Clip From “Tusk”

Tusk_(2014_film)_posterKevin Smith released the first clip from his upcoming horror comedy movie “Tusk” on Twitter. That’s where Smith’s film first got fan approval. “Tusk” is the story of a man who is held hostage by a mysterious person living in Manitoba who physically tortures his captive while putting him through the process of turning him into a human walrus.

Kevin Smith came up with the idea of making a movie about this story on his SModcast with Kevin Mosier. The two discussed an article about a classified ad from a man who was offering free room and board to anyone willing to dress like a walrus around the house. Smith put it out to his Twitter followers to tweet #WalrusYes if they wanted him to make a film based on the conversation. #WalrusYes won out overwhelmingly over #WalrusNo and the film went into production.

Smith is now returning to Twitter where “Tusk” first got the go-ahead with a clip from the upcoming film starring Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Michael Parks and Genesis Rodriguez.

“Tusk” will be released in theaters Friday, September 19th.
