Steve Carell To Star In Looney Tunes Movie

Steve Carell is ready to join the Looney Tunes universe. He’s set to star in the new “Acme” movie being developed by Warner Bros. The film will be a cross of live action and CG animation and will focus on the Acme Corporation and its products that have shown up in Looney Tunes cartoons before. Especially in the Road Runner shorts, where the bird’s nemesis Wile E. Coyote orders all his dastardly traps, snares and tricks to catch the Road Runner from Acme. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film won’t center around any individual Looney Tunes characters in particular.
The “Acme” movie is being written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, best known for writing “X-Men: First Class”. Glenn Ficarra and John Requa may come on board to direct. They’ve work with Steve Carell before. They directed Carell in his 2011 movie “Crazy Stupid Love”. The other part of this equation is producing. Dan Lin and Roy Lee will be producing the “Acme” project. They were behind “The Lego Movie” and its box office success.
No tentative release date for this new Looney Tunes film has been given, but it’s finally moving along since going into development in 2010.
