The New York Jets wined and dined Fireman Ed, the team’s former unofficial mascot, who used to lead the stands in the J-E-T-S chant before he gave it up because fans were threatening him for being a corporate shill. The team took him out to lunch to see if they could get Ed back in the stands leading the cheers again. He turned them down. Maybe next, the team can try to talk Tebow into coming back.
