More Directors Guild Nominations are In!

Today the Directors Guild announced their Nominees for best Documentary Director:
- Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky for Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory
- Steve James for The Interrupters
- James Marsh for Project NIM
- Richard Press for Bill Cunningham New York
- Martin Scorsese for George Harrison: Living in the Material World
The Directors Guild had announced their nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Films earlier this week.
That award has traditionally been one of the industry’s most accurate barometers for who will win the Best Director Academy Award. Only six times since the DGA Awards began in 1948 has the Feature Film winner not gone on to win the corresponding Academy Award.
The winner will be announced on January 28 at their annual awards dinner. And the nominees are:
- Woody Allen for Midnight in Paris
- David Fincher for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
- Michael Hazanavicius for The Artist
- Alexander Payne for The Descendants
- Martin Scorsese for Hugo
