Ron Howard To Direct New Beatles Doc
Academy Award winning director Ron Howard has team up with Apple Corps to direct a new Beatles documentary, which will focus on group’s touring days.
Representatives for both sides announced the deal yesterday and said that the film will focus on The Fab Four at the height of Beatlemania, when the group toured extensively to record audiences throughout North America, England, continental Europe and Asia from 1964 through 1966. It will also detail how the punishing tour schedules, constant security challenges and politically charged flare ups in the Philippines and in the Bible Belt pressed The Beatles to stop touring altogether in 1966.
No word yet on whether the surviving Beatles will be actively involved in the project nor is there a scheduled release date.
