It’s still too early to be thinking about Christmas, but it’s never too early to start thinking about a Murray Christmas. On Friday, December 4th, Netflix will debut A Very Murray Christmas, and we haven’t been this excited about the holidays since Scrooged.
Written by Sofia Coppola, Bill Murray and Mitch Glazer and directed by Sofia Coppola, A Very Murray Christmas will pay homage to the classic variety show featuring Bill Murray playing himself. Mitch Glazer and Bill Murray’s last Christmas themed collaboration brought us the holiday classic Scrooged, so expectations are high.
In a nod to Scrooged, Bill Murray is once again worried about his Christmas themed tv show but this time it’s because a snowstorm in New York City is making it hard for his guests to show up, and there are no indications of any ghosts, ghouls or greed in A Very Murray Christmas. Instead there will be dancing, there will be singing and there will be an overflow of holiday spirit and cheer.
The star-studded cast also includes George Clooney, Julie White, Dimitri Dimitrov, Michael Cera, David Johansen, Jenny Lewis, the band Phoenix, Frederic Moulin, Rashida Jones, Miley Cyrus, and more.
A Very Murray Christmas is executive produced by Coppola, Glazer, Roman Coppola and Tony Hernandez.
