Paul Thomas Anderson On ‘The Master’: ‘I based it on L. Ron Hubbard’

Back in July we asked, is The Master based on Scientology? Well, PT Anderson is finally getting around to admitting that The Master is based on L.Ron Hubbard. The director also said he showed the film to Scientologist Tom Cruise, who starred in his film “Magnolia.”
“We are still friends. Yes, I showed him the film and the rest is between us.” The early reviews are great and it’s shaping up to be the must see movie of September.
