Tracy Morgan, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and More To Topline Live ACLU Benefit

Desperate times call for desperate measures and in 2017, the classic telethon is getting a digital makeover. Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Tom Hanks and scads of celebrities are gathering for a telethon benefiting the ACLU, streaming March 31st via Facebook Live on the Stand for Rights 2017 page as well as the Huffington Post and Funny Or Die. The telecast will feature acts throughout (like the telethon episode of “Parks and Rec”) and will run for three hours (unlike the 24-hour telethon in “Parks and Rec”). The telethon’s location and platform for payment remain undisclosed.

Tracy Morgan, Padma Lakshmi, Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski, Jon Hamm, Uzo Aduba, Josh Charles, Zosia Mamet are also signed on to work the telethon, although other celebrities will most likely join in. As the ACLU’s been working overtime to ensure the rights of Americans in the wake of Trump’s political agenda, the telethon could use all the backing it can get (although stars volunteering will definitely, homogeneously slant left).
