Time Warp Fans Rejoice, The Rocky Horror LIVE Teaser Looks Pretty Good

Okay, in fairness there’s not a lot here to go on just yet, but if you’re excited about FOX’s next big live extravaganza, the teaser for their version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show looks pretty good. Fox went full sets and wardrobe to give you a peek at Brad, Janet, Frank N Furter, Riff Raff and more.

Halloween 2016 or thereabouts is the date. Victoria Justice and Ryan McCartan have tough shoes to fill as Brad and Janet, originally played by Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick.  Laverne Cox will be playing the role made famous by Tim Curry as a cross dressing sci fi scientist Frank N Furter.  Curry, by the way, not only approves of the remake, he’s on board to play the narrator/criminologist.  Reeve Carney plays Riff Raff and Annaleigh Ashford and Christina Milian will play the roles of Columbia and Magenta, with Ben Vereen signed up to play Dr. Scott and Adam Lambert taking on the role Meatloaf played in the original movie, as Eddie.

Fox’s most recent live musical event, Grease Live, grabbed over 12 million viewers but included some strange instances of censorship.  It will be interesting to see how FOX handles some of the racier elements of Rocky Horror.
