The Night Time Show Invades The Hollywood Improv Once a Month

The Night Time Show with Stephen Kramer Glickman is the one of the biggest shows happening in Los Angeles right now. Once a month The Night Time Show descends upon the main room at The Hollywood Improv, and takes over. The show is a fascinating experiment, which Glickman calls late night, “Adult Swim Style.”

The Night Time Show follows the talk show format, with a band, a monologue, desk pieces, and a set with a couch and desk, but this is not a normal talk show, and it’s nothing like The Tonight Show. It’s a live late night talk show on steroids (metaphorically of course). The band changes monthly, but it’s always a local death metal band. There are pre-taped, amped up versions of man on the street interviews which sometimes result in their man on the street getting hit by a car,  and there’s plenty of fighting, the likes of which you haven’t seen since Andy Kaufman made the late night circuit. On one occasion,  Glickman fought with Andy Dick, and during another show the audience watched him wrestle with a giant piece of cake.

And there are of course, guests. Every month TNTS is jampacked with celebrity guests and comics, like Ari Shaffir, Taylor Williamson, Dana Synder from ATHF, Jade Catta Pretta, Tony Hinchcliffe, Randy Liedtke, Fortune Feimster, DJ Dougpound, Bobby Lee, Jonathan Kite, Brent Weinbach, Josh Fadem, and more.

The show has been going strong for eight months, and has consistently sold out month after month. The secret to the shows success might be its talented cast, great guests, and inventive format. Or it might be because they give away complimentary fireball whisky shots to the first 100 people who show up.

With a headliner packed line up and a new death metal house band every month, The Night Time Show is rocking fun. Host Stephen Kramer Glickman– who is best known from his role on the Nickelodeon hit series “Big Time Rush” brings high energy shows populated by an array of interesting characters including Hologram Steve Jobs, Stephen’s elderly Aunt Elaine, Naked Robbie the show mascot, Announcer Mike Black, Andy Dick and more. The show monologue is written by comedians Sam Tripoli, Mike Black, Matt Walker and Bob Oshack. This month they feature performances by Melissa Villasenor, Johnny Pemberton, Adam Ray, Guy Branum, The Brothers Brothers, with the Tulsa Skull Swingers sitting in as this month’s house band. Past bands have included Exmortus, and Ironaut.

The next event is set for this Saturday April 16th at 10pm at The Hollywood Improv.

Nothing is what you expect at The Night Time Show, not even this month’s trailer, which you can watch below.
