Racial Ethnic and Regional Stereotypes in Comedy

We’ve Got Questions.  You’ve Got Answers.

You remember Ashton Kutcher’s controversial ad from last week right?  If you didn’t let me catch you up.  He did a controversial ad for Pop Chips where he appeared in “brown face.”  We know black face is off limits, so what about ‘brown’ face?  The ad got pulled but indian comic Hasan Minaj has more to say about Indian impersonations and stereotypes.  Of course, Kutcher and Pop Chips aren’t the only ones doing these types of over the top stereotypes and exaggerations.  We want to know what you think.  Should racial, ethnic and regional stereotypes off  limits because they’re offensive to some people?  Or do they play a legitimate and non-offensive role in comedy?  Vote in the poll and let us know what you think in the comment section below.
