Bill Maher: The NBC Nightly News And Brian Williams Both Suck
On “Real Time”, Bill Maher didn’t take sides in the NBC News suspension of Brian Williams because he thinks they both stink. He didn’t limit himself to just NBC’s evening news program, he feels that way about all network news. Maher thinks the only real thing that Brian Williams has been lying about is being a newsman.
His bigger issue is how network news waste its time on feel good stories and viral videos to fill their broadcasts instead of covering real news. The West Coast comedian has another problem with nightly news. Snow coverage. Apparently people in California are into hearing about New Englanders and other East coast residents having to shovel their drive ways. He’d rather see Brian Williams cover climate change than a run on snow blowers at the hardware store. But then, Maher would rather not see Brian Williams come back at all.
