Amy Schumer Responds To Bathing Suit Comments

The Roast of Amy Schumer by The People continued yesterday via Instagram. After a photo of Schumer in a one-piece bathing suit was posted, and promptly insulted, the comedian responded by saying, “I meant to write “good morning trolls!” I hope you find some joy in your lives today in a human interaction and not just in writing unkind things to a stranger you’ve never met who triggers something in you that makes you feel powerless and alone. This is how I look. I feel happy. I think I look strong and healthy and also like miss trunchbull from Matilda. Kisses!”

At this point, you’d think the Internet would have found a new insult for Amy Schumer. She’s been in the public eye for long enough and been involved in more than a few projects; that should be fodder for dynamic insults. There has to be a more creative insult for women than calling them vaguely fat, right? Maybe about their work ethic or personality or writing sketches that are more about promoting social agendas than they are funny, right? Of all the people you’d criticize for appearances, it’s counterintuitive to insult a prodigious woman. Or maybe that’s the whole point.

Calling a woman you’ve never met fat might feel like a step up from calling her a cunt, but it only makes the insulter look unoriginal.
