All our late night hosts are working right up until the weekend before Christmas, so after you’re done with your last minute shopping, decorating and wrapping this week, relax and pour a mug of that extra-strong eggnog and enjoy some new comedy while enjoying this week’s late night shows.
Here’s some highlights for this week.
Monday, catch Late Night with Seth Meyers for an appearance by Mike Birbiglia. He’s already been a hit on Broadway with shows like “Sleepwalk With Me“, and “My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend“. And now, Mike’s conquering the Great White Way again with his new show, the aptly named “The New One.” Birbigs is headed into the last month of the run of his latest show and he’ll be on Late Night to talk about it with Seth Meyers.
Wednesday, Ben Stiller will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Ben has been killing it on SNL as soon-to-be imprisoned Trump “fixer” Michael Cohen, but TV audiences have also been loving his work behind the camera. He’s directing and producing the critically acclaimed hit Showtime mini-series, “Escape at Dannemora” about the 2015 prison break and escape from an up-state New York prison and the manhunt that ensued which kept the entire country glued to the news. The mini-series has already picked up two Golden Globe nominations and Ben will be talking about this more serious subject matter on JKL.
Thursday is packed with comedy in late night. The hilariously vicious British comedian Jimmy Carr, who is a “Roast Battle” legend, is on the Tonight Show. Colin Quinn will be making another memorable visit to Late Night with Seth Meyers. Who knows what he’ll reveal in this latest interview? And over on CBS, the stars of “Holmes & Watson” will be divvying up the network’s late night shows to promote their new comedy movie. John C. Reilly who stars as Dr. Watson will be on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert while Will Ferrell who stars as Sherlock Holmes will be on an hour later on the Late Late Show with James Corden.
