Who’s Hosting SNL Tonight? Peter Dinklage
Saturday Night Live is not live tonight, but you can still watch, because NBC will be re-airing an episode from earlier this season. The episode originally aired on April 2, 2016, as part of season 41. Peter Dinklage is hosting. Dinklage has a long and varied career but right now, the only thing on anyone’s mind is HBO’s Game of Thrones, where he plays Tyrion Lannister. This was Peter Dinklage’s first time hosting Saturday Night Live.
Gwen Stefani joined as musical guest.
If you haven’t seen the episode yet, you’ll be excited to know that with Peter Dinklage hosting SNL, that means there are Game of Thrones themed sketches. Our favorite piece of the night- a digital short led by Peter Dinklage and Emilia Clarke (Kate McKinnon) giving a behind the scenes look at the up and coming (at the time) GoT season. Bobby Moynihan steals the scene as a dragon. That’s all we’ll say. Keep an eye out for some of our other favorite sketches- Dinklage performing as a mod singer in a restaurant which gave birth to the new classic musical number, Space Pants, Leslie Jones joins Dinklage for a parody of Naked and Afraid you won’t soon forget, Denny the Real joins classic characters in a Winnie the Pooh based sketch, and we absolutely loved Corporate Magic Show.
