Bobby Moynihan Slays As a GoT Dragon On SNL Plus Our Picks for the Top 5 Sketches

Last night, Peter Dinklage led a strong episode of Saturday Night Live with many great moments, but it was Bobby Moynihan who stole the show as a Game of Thrones dragon.

#1  Peter Dinklage and Emilia Clarke, played by Kate McKinnon, take viewers behind the scenes on Game of Thrones’ sixth season. Dinklage intro’s the behind the scenes shots by saying he’s glad he finally gets some screen time with the real scene stealers of Game of Thrones– the dragons. Bobby Moynihan steals the night playing the motion capture actor behind the movement of the dragons. Watch the clip below of Bobby Moynihan slaying as a GoT dragon mocapper.

Other highlights from this week’s episode of Saturday Night Live mainly go to Dinklage who had a slew of great sketches.

#2. Our absolutely favorite Dinklage moment was his portrayal as a performer in a restaurant, where a mafia meeting is taking place.  He’s wearing some great pants- space pants in fact, and wants to sing about them.  His musical performance about Space Pants is so mesmerizing, that it distract from a mafia meeting taking place between Bobby Moynihan, Pete Davidson, Beck Bennett, and Jon Rudnitsky. Dinklage is joined on stage with Gwen Stefani wearing a tiny pair of space shorts.

#3. In a hilarious parody of Naked and Afraid, Dinklage is dropped off in the wild with a very aggressive Leslie Jones. Dinklage is a little nervous about the experience, but not Jones. She’s packing Franks Red Hot Sauce and ready to go. Dinklage is also packing…something.

#4. Our next pick for top sketches of the night goes to a sketch that doesn’t go anywhere but is hilarious if only for the ridiculous costumes and voices. Dinklage plays Winnie the Pooh in a piece celebrating a birthday.  The Pooh Corner Crew get a visit from a little known character–  Denny the Real — who brings a very special gift- the gift of  pants, for a bear that’s been running around bottomless for just a little too long.  Denny gives a wake up call to Pooh and his crew.

#5. Dinklage starred in a number of other funny sketches last night including a bit about a couple visiting an undersea hotel, only to find something very wrong with their view, an odd trendy restaurant with a scandalous past and food served through glory holes. But it was the sketch about a corporate magic act that we picked for #5 in our top 5 sketches from last night. Taran Killam co-stars with Dinklage in a sketch about a corporate magic act gone wrong when the magician picks the boss to be the butt of a simple trick.

BONUS SKETCH.  We had to include  this week’s cold open, starring Cecily Strong as Scottie Nell Hughes defending Donald Trump’s comments about women to CNN’s Kate Bolduan, played by Kate McKinnon. Thank god it was just an April Fools Joke, right? Trump loves women.
