New footage of the events leading to a skirmish between Katt Williams and a teenaged boy has emerged and – while there’s no question that Williams threw the first punch – the extended footage shows that Williams attempted to walk away and avoid an altercation before ultimately lashing out.

A 5-minute clip posted on World Star Hip Hop Thursday shows Williams playing a sandlot game of soccer with a group of children, showing some impressive ball-handling skills and dekes. Williams and the boy appear to exchange words a few times on the pitch. Williams walks off the field and the boy follows, as the two seemingly exchange trash-talk.

A crowd follows as the two sits down against a brick building with Williams. An unidentified person challenges Williams to “stand up,” to which he replies, “make me.”

“I just got outta jail, nigga,” Williams says, as the boy continues to heckle him. “I think you’re gonna have acne until you’re 26.” Williams finally stands as more onlookers chime in, cracking jokes and leaning in to snap selfies with Williams as he squares up to the teenager, then surprises him with a quick left jab. The boy quickly recovers and tackles Williams before the two are separated.

The extended footage shows that Williams attempted to walk away. After the fight, onlookers helped Williams to his feet and checked to see if he was in injured. “(This) shows why celebrities don’t go to the (unintelligible). It’s not that they don’t want to. It’s that they know that bullshit happens,” Williams said.
