Janis Joplin’s 1964 Porsche was auctioned off last night in New York City and the asking price of between 400 and 600 thousand dollars was blown by as the bids soared to 1.76 million. The decked out, psychedelic painted ride once belonged to the famed singer and it was her primary mode of transportation. Fans would leave notes for Janis in the hood of her car and knew where she was based on where the car was park. This only contributes to the greatest misheard song lyrics of all time “Take it! Take another little piece of my car now, baby”.
