Texas Mayor Resigns After Bitching at Residents

Mayor Tim Boyd is no longer mayor of Colorado City, Texas. He resigned after his Facebook post generated huge backlash. In the post he says he’s tired of people looking for handouts when citizens were calling out for help amid massive power outages. No one owes you anything, he told residents, and its not the local government’s job to support you during tough times. Add in a few colorful statements like “sink or swim!” and “only the strong survive” and that sums it up.

Oh…speaking of not surviving.

Police Warn of Dangerous White Powder After 10 Kilos of Coke Float Up on Beaches

Police in Australia urge beachgoers not to handle ‘mysterious white powder’ that has been washing up on the beach by the kilos. They are hoping to dissuade people from helping themselves to the (most likely) bags of cocaine by saying they may be hazardous.

In an informal survey, 100% of people at the beach said they’d take their chances with the ‘powder’ before they’d take a Covid vaccine.
