The Comedian Who Changed My Life is a new series where comics talk about, you guessed it, the comedian who changed their life. This week, Seth Herzog talks about the Comedian Who Changed My Life.

This is Seth Herzog and I would say the comic that changed my life might be Steve Martin.

When I was in 5th grade I was required to be in the talent show. And I was thinking about what I could do. And I figured, I want to do something by myself so I don’t have to get together and rehearse with anyone. So I figured I’d just do some stand up. Now, my brother had a bunch of Steve Martin records, and that’s all I knew really. So I listened to “Let’s Get Small.” And then I took a bunch of jokes off of side two of “Let’s Get Small” and I just recited them. I didn’t even get half of them or why they were even funny, but the 5th graders in the audience seemed to get it, they loved it. And some of them even know who it was….they were like ‘that Steve Martin stuff was great!’ I was like ‘thanks.’ But then I became a giant fan of his, and then did it with more comedy and saw the movies and pursued it.

So…I was born… I Jersey. Anyway, there ya go.
