The Comedian Who Changed My Life is Jimmy Logan

The Comedian Who Changed My Life is a new series where comics talk about, you guessed it, the comedian who changed their life.

This is Billy Connolly. And the ‘median who changed my life, if you’re at all interested, was called Jimmy Logan. He was a Scottish comedian—he’s dead now. And his sister used to sing with Lambert Hendricks & Ross, the jazz trio here in New York. But Jimmy was a Scottish comedian. And the reason he changed my life was until then I’d only heard American and English comedians. I’d never heard anyone being funny in my accent, and Jimmy came and did it and it blew me away. I thought, ‘well maybe I could do this’. Cause everyone else made me feel like they were foreigners or people from the moon or something. I’d never met a comedian but I went to see Jimmy, and there he was in my accent speaking about things I knew about. And it changed my life completely.
