Earlier this year, we reported that FX had picked up the script for an unnamed Jordan Peele (Key & Peele) / John Carcieri (Vice Principals) show starring Tracy Morgan. Not much else has come out about the show since then, but we now know that the show will no longer be airing on FX, as it has now been picked up by TBS.

Still unnamed, the show will follow Tracy (Morgan), who has just wrapped up a 15-year prison sentence. Upon returning to his old neighborhood in Brooklyn, Tracy finds that nothing is the same; his neighborhood in gentrified, cars are driving themselves, and worst of all, his girlfriend is raising his twin sons he never knew he had with some rich white guy. The show mirrors Morgan’s own journey in a way. Like his character on the show, Morgan has had to struggle in recent years to re-acclimatize to the world after the 2014 car accident that left him in a coma. This show will mark Morgan’s first role on a TV show since the accident.

“Tracy and Jordan are two of today’s most sought-after and authentically funny comedians, and this show captures all the hilarity you would expect from this brilliant duo,” said TBS’ Brett Weitz. “TBS is becoming a home for the most creative and diverse comedy creators in the business, and Tracy and Jordan are a perfect fit for this network.”

Peele has been keeping busy this year; On top of this current project, he also co-wrote and starred in the action-comedy Keanu alongside Keegan Michael Key, and also wrote the upcoming horror flick Get Out.
