Stone Temple Pilots Singer Found Dead At 48
Former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland was found dead in his hotel room on Thursday night in Bloomington, Minnesota. Weiland passed away in his sleep and he has a long history with addiction throughout his career – though the cause of death still has yet to be confirmed.
Whereas most of his contemporaries were staring at their shoes in stage, not wanting to be ‘rock stars’ or not wanting to ‘be famous, Scott Weiland dove head first into all of it, warts and all. What you saw was what you got. Core. Purple. Tiny Music. No 4. Kick ass rock n roll records that were also remarkably vulnerable and introspective. ‘Pretty Penny’ ‘Big Empty’, ‘Still Remains’, ‘Sour Girl’ and ‘Fall To Pieces’ (with Velvet Revoler). were straight up moving. Rock n roll has had a lot of great people who just owned the stage. Scott Weiland was one of them. One of the best. Rest easy and may you finally find the peace in the next realm that eluded you in this one.
