How A Starbucks Employee Accidentally Named A Star Wars Planet

Rogue One director Gareth Edwards wanted a way to sneak his name into the Star Wars mythos, when it came time for him to name the planet that the entire third act would take place on he went to Starbucks, ordered a coffee and when his cup said “Scarif” instead of “Gareth” he decided it sounded like a Star Wars type name and would fit it into the film. So just think, if he had decided to go to Dunkin’ Donuts that day, he actually would have needed to do some work and create a name on his own.
