SNOB Film Festival

snobA local film festival called the Somewhat North Of Boston (SNOB) Film Festival needs your help! We just had our 12th year in a row, and it is looking to be our biggest year yet, but we still need your support. SNOB FF is a 100% volunteer organization. All volunteers, staff, and committee positions are non-paid. All of the money raised goes directly to the festival. This goes into the cost of our world-class venue, accommodations for filmmakers, special events, and most of all marketing. We rely on sponsors to help fund the festival rather than increasing the modest ticket prices.

The SNOB Film Festival is a smaller film festival with about 2,000 people in attendance over the weekend. Our goal is to bring films to NH that people wouldn’t typically see. We find lots of great independent films from the area and around the world to show. If you read the names you probably would not know many of the films or filmmakers. However, SNOB FF provides an outlet for these filmmakers to show their work and a place for viewers to see different, non-Hollywood films. Some of the filmmakers from past years have gone on to produce many other project that Hollywood, TV, and cable have picked up. We feel that truly non-corporate independent film festivals like SNOB FF are the backbone for these filmmakers to succeed. Over 12 years ago SNOB FF was started as a joke… “Yes there’s culture Somewhat North Of Boston.” …And has grown to be a cultural event for the area. We are tying very hard to keep this event alive. Every dollar counts. Money is used to bring filmmakers in and provide rooms for them over the weekend. This is a big part of the festival; the filmmakers interaction. The more money we raise the more filmmakers we can bring in. We have a world class venue that has been highlighted around the country as a top small community theater. However, this comes at a price. And lastly we need to build an audience… Not to raise money. You will see our ticket prices are lower than most others. We want to build an audience to experience the culture of the film festival…. To be a part of the interaction with the filmmakers… To experience films that they will never otherwise see. We are short on money this year. Therefore, the filmmakers and the film viewers are going to miss out on this local cultural event, unless we can raise the funds through Kickstarter.
