‘Vice Principals’ Cast Commentary Episode

With HBO’s Vice Principals set to return to the small screen on Sunday, September 17th, the anticipation is beginning to reach a fever pitch. If you are one of the many people who are absolutely itching to get their hands on new Vice Principals content, then we have a surprise for you. “A sneak peek at season 2!?” you ask. “No,” I say, “I guess that previous statement was a little misleading, sorry.” The alternative is cool, though!

On Sunday, August 27th, HBO will be posting Dope Doodles with the Vice Principals Cast and Crew to HBO GO, HBO Now, HBO On Demand and all of their other digital portals. The half-hour show is a new spin on the traditional cast commentary feature; The show’s premiere episode will be played, accompanied by on-screen doodles and insider notes about the show, from funny tidbits about the show’s origins to interviews with the cast. The episode will essentially be a mash-up of a cast commentary with Pop-Up Video-style notes throughout, including commentary and interviews from Danny McBride, Walton Goggins, Busy Philipps, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Sheaun McKinney, Georgia King, Shea Whigham, and Maya G. Love.

HBO has released a sneak peek at the Dope Doodles episode, which depicts one of the opening scenes of the show featuring Bill Murray (Principal Welles), Danny McBride (Neal Gamby) and Walton Goggins (Lee Russell), as Principal Welles lowers the school’s flag for the last time. The notes that accompany the scene tell the story of how Murray was recruited for the show, which may be the most Bill Murray thing that Bill Murray has ever done. I won’t even spoil it here, just check out the clip below and see for yourself.

Dope Doodles with the Vice Principals Cast and Crew will be available to all HBO subscribers this Sunday, so be sure to check it out!
