Five Thirty Eight looked into whether or not politicians are actually lying jerk offs. They took the promises made by US Presidents on the campaign trail and found that between 1968 and 2004, Presidents kept about 67% of said promises. They made sure not to apply this study to Congress since they can lie about whatever they want and no one notices.
