OutKast Turned Down Super Bowl Over Artistic Integrity
Big Boi appeared on Dan LeBatard’s radio show Thursday, and during a discussion about performing at sporting events, he revealed OutKast was invited to perform a Super Bowl halftime. They were interested in “The Way You Move” and “Hey Ya,” but André 3000 refused when the organizers wouldn’t give them enough time to perform the songs in full.
Big Boi hinted that this was Super Bowl XXXVIII, which would’ve been the first after Speakerboxxx/ The Love Below. It also was the one that featured Janet Jackson. Yes, THAT halftime show.
