Nikki Glaser Confirmed to Compete on Dancing With the Stars

Yesterday we asked whether Nikki Glaser could be the next comedian to step out on DWTS.

Well, It’s confirmed. Nikki Glaser will be Dancing With the Stars this season.

This morning on Good Morning America, the cast for Season 27 was revealed. Glaser will indeed be dancing with Gleb Savchenko, one of 13 celebrities joining the show.

Glaser will be competing with John Schneider, Nancy McKeon, Bobby Bones, Juan Pablo Di Pace, Mary Lou Retton, Demarcus Ware, Evanna Lynch, Tinashe, Milo Manheim, Danelle Umstead, Joe Amabile, Alexis Ren and Tammin Sursok.

She’s not the first stand up comedian to take a shot at the DWTS prize. Adam Carolla, Jeffrey Ross, Penn Gillette, D.L. Hughley, David Allan Grier, Andy Dick, Bill Engvall and Tommy Chong have competed, although most didn’t last very long. Ross came in 13th out of 13 competitors in season 7. In season 6, Penn Jillette also came in dead last, 12th out of 12. Adam Carolla managed to hang on to 9th place in that same season. Grier came in 9th too, as did D.L. Hughely. Bill Engvall is the highest ranking comedy competitor, achieving 4th place in season 17, Tommy Chong made it to 5th place. Glaser’s the first female stand up to compete.

Glaser is a powerhouse on stage, one of the strongest, funniest and most interesting young comedians in the country right now. She just had a great run as a judge on Comedy Central’s “Roast Battle” series, and her prematurely canceled, “Not Safe with Nikki Glaser” was beloved by fans and critics (us included), and would have likely become a hit had it still been on the air when all the #MeToo stories starting making news. Now you can hear her every morning on SiriusXM’s Comedy Central radio, on her show “You UP With Nikki Glaser”, and you can see her performing on stages all over New York City and around the country.

As promised, we’ll be watching.
