NFL Introduces New Conduct Policy, With A Flowchart!

roger-goodell-91914This fall, the NFL came under fire for the way its Personal Conduct Policy worked, which was basically the big-headed ginger in the top office just pulling ideas out of his ass. On Wednesday, the owners unanimously approved a new policy designed to keep evil-doers from tarnishing The Shield.
The main points of the new policy:

– Initial punishments for violations of the Personal Conduct Policy will now be handled by a yet-to-be-hired “NFL Special Counsel for Investigations and Conduct.” Appeals will then be heard by Goodell.

– Remember that never-before seen “Commissioner Exempt List” that Purple Jesus was put on with paid leave? Now if you’re charged with a crime (or the league believes there’s credible evidence), you can be put on that list through the end of the investigation. Or, to put it another way, you’ll be out-of-sight, out-of-mind.

– The NFL will “no longer defer entirely to the decisions of the criminal justice system,” which means no matter what small punishment some liberal pantywaist judge gives you, the league can throw the book at you.

– Assault, battery, domestic violence, or child abuse will win you an automatic six-game unpaid suspension. And if it sounds bad enough, they can tack on more. A second violation means a lifetime ban.

– If you choose to appeal your suspension, you will remain on the “Commissioner Exempt List.”

– Nine owners will be reviewing the policy on a yearly basis. So there’s that.

The NFLPA is less than pleased, as they believe this is a change to the terms of employment, which must be collectively bargained. But for now, they’ve released this handy-dandy flowchart, which you can see below.
