A new study produced by the Media, Diversity & Social Change Initiative at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism found that Hollywood films are mainly made up of white people – particularly white males. In fact, the findings reveled that women made up only 30.2 percent of speaking or named characters in the 100 top-grossing fictional films from 2007 to 2014 and that And 73.1 percent of speaking or named characters were white. It’s a good thing Keanu reeves, Christian Bale and Liam Hemsworth passed on the film “Precious” or we might not even know who Gabourey Sidibe even is.
