Miss America is no longer considered a pageant, but a competition and is being called Miss America 2.0. The event got rid of the swimsuit competition and instead of contestants having platforms they had “social impact statements.” The winner for 2019 was Miss New York who was advocating for the arts. Get ready for Miss America 3.0 where they just take the SATs.
