A Louisiana man began collecting pennies 45 years ago – and finally decided to cash in on his collection. The penny-saver spent over four decades scavenging, searching, and saving any penny he could find, until he had a collection of more than 500,000. He brought it to a local bank, which exchanged all of the pennies for what amounted to $5,000. Nice payday for the collector, but you gotta wonder how much money he could have made working, if he didn’t spend years digging through couch cushions and fountains.
