Which Major Celebrity Wants Amy Schumer to Play Her in a Biopic?

Meryl Streep has played her share of real life people including Karen Silkwood, Julia Child and Margaret Thatcher, that last one even earned her one of her three Oscars. However when she was asked who should play her in a Meryl Streep bio-pic, the iconic actor chose someone from the world of comedy instead of drama.
Amy Schumer was Meryl Streep’s choice for the lead role in the fictitious “Meryl Streep Story”. Whether it’s because Meryl Streep sees her life as more of a comedy or simply because she adores Amy Schumer, the Academy Award winner gave her answer without any hesitation in a HuffPo interview. Streep was asked the question during one of those odd lightning round Q&As that always seems funner for the interviewer than it does for the guest. So far, it was just a trivial interview game question, but who knows if Streep’s suggestion will put her life story (even though it’s certainly not done being written yet) into production?
Although Streep and Schumer haven’t worked together on the big screen, they do have something in common. Both were honored last year at the 2015 Britannia Awards. Meryl Streep won the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film and Amy Schumer was selected for the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy.
Meryl Streep is currently starring in another film based on a real life story. “Florence Foster Jenkins” stars Streep in the biographical dramedy about the New York City socialite and amateur opera singer who despite her voice being flatter than Trump’s current poll ratings, pulled off a show at Carnegie Hall in the 1940s. “Florence Foster Jenkins” opened nationwide this weekend and is in theaters everywhere.
