All our late night hosts are back this week after most of them having a week off. Helpful Hint: Set your DVRs because there’s is way too much comedy to keep up with this week. Also, you want to make sure you don’t miss anything in late night comedy, especially if you’re watching the World Series and those games go into extra innings. Here’s your highlights.
On Monday, Conan has an all comedy guest call sheet. He’s got musical comedy genius Weird Al, former SNL sketch comedy performer Taran Killam and the guest we’re most excited about watching, stand up comedian Solomon Georgio. He comes to the comedy world with a very unique voice being, most likely, the only openly gay African immigrant comedian working in stand up today. It’s been a couple of years since he made his late night debut on Conan, but he’s returning to promote his brand new Comedy Central Half Hour special, which was available this past Friday along with his debut album from Comedy Central Records titled “Homonégro Superior” which was also available beginning on Friday, October 20th.
Tuesday, Team Coco keeps the stand up coming. Conan’s guests will include and interview with Adam Sandler (an O’Brien favorite), and a performance from comic Jimmy Dunn out of Boston who’s known as a corporate comedian, but is currently touring doing a variety of shows open to the public including a couple of stand up appearances with fellow funny Bostonian Tony V. and their “Two Boston Guys” comedy show. You can get more info at JimmyDunn.com.
Wednesday, Jimmy Kimmel gets in on the stand up performances this week with guest Neel Nanda. He’s becoming a fixture at comedy festivals all over the country including the Bridgetown Comedy Festival and the Laughing Skull Festival, plus he produces and hosts comedy shows around Los Angeles. Meanwhile on Thursday, Conan O’Brien welcomes America’s favorite Australian comedian Jim Jefferies and The Chris Gethard Show hosts Gillian Jacobs from “Community” and Netflix’s “Love“.
Then on Saturday, it’s the debut of the what is sure to be a lasting Halloween tradition rivaling “It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown“. The new holiday cartoon event, “The David S. Pumpkins Animated Halloween Special” which started with Tom Hanks debuting this SNL character on the 2016 Saturday Night Live Halloween episode, will premiere in SNL‘s regular time slot at 11:30pm on NBC. It features the voices of Tom Hanks as the title character, along with Bobby Moynihan, Mikey Day and Peter Dinklage. Happy Halloween!
