A teacher in Kentucky came out as bisexual on his Instagram account after he heard a student struggling with their sexuality was considering suicide. Three days later, he said he was hauled into his principal’s office, questioned about his sexuality by a deputy school superintendent, and warned to keep his sexual preferences to himself. A month later, he was told that his contract with the Montgomery County Public Schools was not being renewed. The Kentucky school district wanted him to focus on the things that matter, like the south rising again.
