In an interview with Esquire, Keith Richards was asked about how music has aged, specifically the Beatles versus the Stones. Richards responded that the Beatles “sounded great when they were the Beatles. But there’s not a lot of roots in that music. I think they got carried away.” He called Sgt. Pepper was “a mishmash of rubbish,” before comparing it to the Stones’ Satanic Majesties. He added, “Oh, if you can make a load of shit, so can we.” No word on how Richards feels about the Baha Men classic, “Who Let The Dogs Out.”
