Katt Williams Being Sued by Former Opener for Alleged Kidnapping
This week on Katt Watch: Are you officially allowed to add “professional kidnapper” to your resume after two successful kidnappings? Katt Williams may know better than most, because according to a report from TMZ, the comedian is being sued by a fellow comic who claims Williams kidnapped and beat her. Back in March, you might remember, Williams was arrested on a separate kidnapping charge when he was accused of beating and kidnapping one of his bodyguards who refused to follow an order.
Comedian Ashima Franklin claims that earlier this year, while opening for Williams on his tour, the troubled comic verbally berated her before attacking her with the aid of two other women. Franklin supposedly received injuries to her face, chest, arms and legs, and was prevented from leaving by Williams when she tried to escape. This wasn’t the first time that Williams physically assaulted her, either; Williams apparently hit Franklin in the face back in 2012 and threw hot food in her face another time.
Hot take: Katt Williams sounds like a terrible boss.
The allegations against Williams are serious, and are only a bullet point on a much longer list of “alleged” crimes that Williams has committed. Franklin is demanding somewhere in the range of three million dollars from Williams in damages.
