New Joan Rivers Documentary to Air in NY in April

A new documentary series chronicling the careers of comedy’s biggest stars will premiere next month on New York’s public television network, THIRTEEN.
The series is being presented by Comedy Hall of Fame, a production company and conservancy group that aims to elevate the art of comedy and to celebrate the people who made it what it is today. The special is part of a series called EXIT LAUGHING, which aims to bring comedy-related content to public television in a more prominent way. The River’s documentary is the first part of the series, and features Lily Tomlin, Kathy Griffin, Sarah Silverman, Dick Cavett, Don Rickles, Whitney Cummings, Marlo Thomas and a host of other stars. Rivers is a great jumping off point for the series. If there has ever been anyone known to push buttons and speak their mind as loudly as possible, it was Joan Rivers.
Rivers, who passed away in 2014, is a comedy and entertainment legend, a juggernaut of a personality who was the very embodiment of the typical New Yorker. She was bold, brutally honest, and quick as a whip, and her nearly 50 year career is one that influenced untold numbers of comedians and entertainers everywhere. Rivers was truly a larger-than-life personality, so Comedy Hall of Fame’s first installment in this series promises to be a great one. A promo for the film can be seen below. The documentary will premiere on April 1st at 10pm on New York’s THIRTEEN network.
