Jimmy Kimmel Wants Your Vote for VP
If this year’s election hasn’t been wacky enough, Jimmy Kimmel has decided to partake in the circus with a huge announcement. The host of Jimmy Kimmel Live decided to forgo running for President of the United States because the second most powerful position in the country seemed to be wide open…Vice President. Kimmel said “The future of democracy is slipping through our fat, buttery hands. Millions of people are scared. But no one ever has to be scared again, because tonight I am humbled to announce that I’m officially running for Vice President of the United States.”
If you think this is another Kimmel prank (which or course it isn’t, its just a bit) he wants to assure everyone it’s not, and that this is a real deal. Kimmel is so serious about his campaign that he has set up a fully functioning website with Jimmy’s take on the issues, a little bio on him and even merchandise you can buy. He even bought an expensive bus to arrive in at the studio. One of the issues Kimmel promised to attack right upfront was the war on long CVS receipts, something he has been against for so long that he actually brought the subject up to President Obama himself.
CNN anchors Jake Tapper, Dana Bash and Wolf Blitzer “interrupted” his monologue to question Kimmel about his campaign for Vice President and ask him who he is running with (nobody), if he would build a wall and other questions. When they asked him if he was making a mockery of the election, Kimmel replied “I think it’s too late for anyone to do that.”
Who knows if this campaign will work out. There is already a reality show star who is about to get the Republican nomination. Think about it, Trump knows Jimmy, he’s been on Live before. This could be the super ticket that we have been waiting for!
