Deadline is reporting that Jeff Garlin, the comedian best known for his roles on Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Goldbergs, just had the rights to his new film Handsome scooped up by Netflix. Handsome, which Garlin directs and stars in, follows the story of Los Angeles detective Gene Handsome as he attempts to solve crimes while also dealing with personal issues.
The movie has a stellar cast, featuring names like Amy Sedaris (Strangers with Candy, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,) Eddie Pepitone (Netflix’s Love,) Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory,) Leah Remini (King of Queens,) Natasha Lyonne (Orange is the New Black,) Steven Weber (iZombie,) and Christine Woods (Perfect Couples, Hello Ladies.)
Garlin co-wrote the film with Andrea Seigel (Laggies), who also helps Garlin produce alongside The Goldbergs collaborator Vern Davidson and Master of None’s David Miner.
Fresh on the heels of the news that he’d be reprising his role on the long-awaited ninth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, it looks like Garlin’s schedule just got a whole lot busier.
