IBM’s Watson Gets Second Career In Life As A Chef

Screen Shot 2015-04-13 at 11.24.12 PMIBM’s supercomputer and AI, Watson, has found new meaning in life. Sure, it beat out a couple of former Jeopardy champions, but after that what was next? The answer: cooking. Using databases of ingredients and flavor profiles, the computer is building recipes that chef’s are actually finding taste good. Some of its recipes have been:

  • Belgian bacon pudding, a dessert containing dried porcini mushrooms
  • Vietnamese apple kebab, with the vaunted mushroom-and-strawberry pairing
  • Portuguese lobster roll, with appetizing “saffron fluid gel”
  • Hoof-n-Honey ale, with veal stock
  • Thai-Jewish chicken, with potato latkes and rice balls
  • The shrimp cocktail, which is a beverage with actual shrimp in it

And don’t forget to check out its upcoming cookbook, “How To Subjugate and Marinate The Human Race”.
