High School Basketball Player Is Skipping College To Play Overseas

Five-star recruit R.J. Hampton appeared on ESPN’s Get Up on Tuesday to share his “college decision”, which ended up being that Hampton has decided to sign a pro contract with the New Zealand Breakers, of the largely Australia-based NBL. Hampton said “My dream has never been to play college basketball,” and that “My dream has always been to get to the next level and to play in the NBA. Nobody is saying go play for free in the NCAA, but maybe go play in Latvia with some monsters, not some Aussies just learning how to dribble.
