We’re asking for help from everyone interested in promoting and supporting independent music and fostering a community of like-minded individuals who can work together to build a diverse, meaningful, and successful music scene in Brooklyn and beyond.
We are offering exciting premiums from our collective of talented musicians, artists, and writers in return for your pledges of support: Everything from private music lessons to recording time at the studio. But in the long run, we’re hoping to build not just a business, but a place where gifted and motivated artists – regardless of age, background, or economic station – can work together and grow as a community. We envision Mama Coco’s Funky Kitchen as not just a studio but a salon, an environment, a movement, free of the moral compromises of the music industry and the fickle pressures of the marketplace. We know we are asking a lot, at a time when every dollar comes hard-earned, but we believe that we are asking you to invest not just in a room full of microphones and baffling, but in a future.
