For 12 years, Brian Williams has led people to believe he was in a helicopter that fell under enemy fire during the Iraq War. That didn’t happen and he was called out on it by a soldier who was there. Williams apologized during his newscast saying he made a mistake. It was an honest error. When you travel as much as him, it’s really hard to remember all the flights that got shot down from the ones that didn’t.
