Golden Globes Love Streaming Platforms in 2015

Golden Globe nominations were announced today and once again, The Hollywood Foreign Press threw in some curveballs with some of its selections.
When it comes to comedy, The Golden Globes once again has shown its love for streaming such as NetFlix, Hulu, and Amazon by awarding half of its Best TV Series, Comedy nominations to shows such as Orange Is The New Black, Casual, Mozart In The Jungle and Transparent. The love is also extended into the acting categories with Aziz Ansari (Master Of None), Gael Garcia Bernal (Mozart In The Jungle) and last year’s winner Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent) all receiving nominations for Best Actor in a TV Series, Comedy.
This year’s sentimental favorite will be the one and only Lily Tomlin, who made a much welcomed return with her roles in the Netflix series Grace And Frankie and the Paul Weitz film Grandma. She’s up for two awards: Best Actress In A TV Series, Comedy and for Best Actress In A Motion Picture, Comedy.
While its no surprise that The Martian would received its fair share of nominations, but of course when the film first released, no one expected the Ridley Scott sci-fi thriller would be nominated in the comedy categories for Best Actor and Best Motion Picture. It had its comic moments, but certainly not wasn’t laugh out loud funny as, for example, Trainwreck or Spy.
