Genealogy Website Leads To Solving a 17-Year-Old Murder Case

17 years ago a woman was murdered in her Florida home by a burglar. Some of the DNA left at the scene of the crime was compared with the website GEDMatch’s open source database. Through the site, they found 3 people who were close relatives of someone which led them to testing the DNA of Benjamin Homes, finding an exact match and arresting him for the crime. So, every time a family member tries to see just how Scottish they really are they may be ratting you out to the cops.
