Friends And Family Sit Shiva For Joan Rivers in L.A.

On Friday, celebrities and friends of Joan Rivers were sitting shiva for the late comedian. Following the Jewish custom of a seven day period of mourning, there was gathering to remember Joan in Los Angeles.
The shiva was held at Melissa Rivers home. The Daily Mail reported that friends and family exchanged stories about Joan while jazz music played inside and outside the home in the garden. In Los Angeles, guests included Lily Tomlin, Don Rickles, Broadway star Betty Buckley, and singer Steve Lawrence.
Lily Tomlin said – “I just loved her.” She added “Everybody’s discussing her like she’s still here and in a way, she is.”
The L.A. gathering came less than a week after Joan’s Manhattan funeral service which was held last Sunday.
